Held in May each year, the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival is a celebration of all things pumpkin, with pumpkin-related activities, foods, and competitions, including the famous pumpkin roll which sees thousands of pumpkins hurtling down a hillside, much to the delight of spectators.

One of the most well-known is the Relay for Life, which takes place annually at a nearby town. The event is a 24-hour walkathon, with participants taking turns walking around a track to raise money for cancer research and support services.
